Web Design and Development Company in Cairo
Web Roots is a Cairo based web design and development studio. We build custom websites and online stores for Egyptian businesses, in Arabic, in English, or in both, and we stay with you after launch.
Websites we build for Egyptian businesses
Most of the businesses that come to us in Egypt need one of a small number of things. Here is what we actually build, and who each one suits.
Company and brochure websites
A clear multi page site: home, about, services, contact, and whatever else your business needs. Built so a first time visitor trusts you enough to get in touch.
Bilingual Arabic and English sites
One site, two languages, with a proper right to left layout on the Arabic side. Not a translation bolted onto an English template at the end.
Online stores
Product catalogues and full checkout stores, set up around how Egyptians actually pay and receive orders. There is a whole section on that below.
Personal and professional sites
Doctors, lawyers, consultants, academics, and anyone whose own name is the brand. Credentials, work, and contact details in one credible place.
Rebuilds of outdated websites
If your current site is slow, breaks on phones, or was built years ago on something nobody maintains any more, we rebuild it without throwing away the pages Google already knows.
Hosting, domains, and business email
We can host the site, register or transfer the domain, and set up email on your own domain, so there is one number to call when something needs attention.
Online stores and ecommerce in Cairo
Selling online in Egypt is not the same problem as selling online in Europe or the Gulf, and a store that ignores the difference quietly loses orders. Four things decide whether an Egyptian store works: how people pay, how the order gets delivered, whether the Arabic side is real, and how heavy the pages are on a mobile connection.
Cash on delivery is still the default for a large share of Egyptian shoppers. A store that only takes cards will turn away customers who were ready to buy. Most stores here end up with a mix: cash on delivery, a local card gateway such as Paymob, Fawry or Kashier, mobile wallets, and in some categories an instalment option. We set up the combination that fits your products and your margins instead of pushing every store through the same checkout.
Delivery is the second half of the same problem. Shipping rates that vary by governorate, a courier your team can actually work with, and an order flow your staff can follow without a training course all matter more than any theme feature. We wire the store so a new order lands somewhere your team already looks, whether that is email, a dashboard, or WhatsApp.
Arabic product catalogues need real attention. Arabic product names, categories, and on-site search behave differently from their English equivalents, and right to left affects every part of a product page, from where the price sits to which way the quantity control runs. We build the Arabic store as a first class version, not a mirrored copy.
Almost all of your traffic will be mobile, and a lot of it will be on a connection that is not fast. So we keep product pages light, compress imagery properly, and avoid the heavy page builders that make a store feel sluggish on a mid range phone. A store that takes six seconds to show a product photo is a store with an abandoned basket.
Not every business needs a full checkout on day one. A catalogue site where customers browse and then order over WhatsApp is often the faster and cheaper way to start selling, and it can be upgraded to a full store later without rebuilding from scratch. We will tell you which one your business actually needs rather than selling you the bigger build by default.
- Cash on delivery, local card gateways, and mobile wallets
- Shipping rates by governorate and a clean courier handover
- Arabic product catalogues with correct right to left layout
- Light, fast product pages that survive mobile data
- Orders delivered where your team already works
- A clear path from WhatsApp catalogue to full checkout
If you are already selling through Instagram or WhatsApp and orders are getting lost in the messages, that is usually the point where a real store starts paying for itself.
Why Cairo businesses work with us
We are based in New Cairo and we work the Egyptian week, Sunday to Thursday, plus Friday for clients abroad. You can reach us on WhatsApp and get an answer in Arabic or English from the people who are actually building your site.
Everything we build is custom. We do not resell a marketplace theme with your logo dropped into it, which is why our sites do not look like the other four in your industry. Design, build, content structure, and launch are handled in house, and we stay on afterwards for updates and fixes.
A Cairo team, not an offshore queue
You talk to the people writing the code, during your working hours, in your language.
Arabic and English done properly
Right to left layout, Arabic typography, and copy that reads like Arabic because it was written in Arabic.
One supplier for site, hosting, domain, and email
Fewer people to chase when something needs fixing, and nobody to blame each other.
Fixed scope and a fixed price before we start
You know what you are getting and what it costs in Egyptian pounds before any work begins.

How we build your website
- 1
Talk
We start with a conversation about your business, your customers, and what the site actually has to achieve. Usually WhatsApp or a call, and it costs nothing.
- 2
Scope and price
We agree the pages, the languages, and the features in writing, and you get a fixed price before anything is built.
- 3
Design
We design the layout and the visual direction, then refine it with you until it is right.
- 4
Build
We develop the site responsive, fast, and search ready, in Arabic, English, or both.
- 5
Launch and support
You review on a private staging link, we polish the details, then we deploy and connect the domain. After launch we keep it updated and fix what needs fixing.
Frequently Asked Questions
How much does a website cost in Cairo?
It depends on the number of pages, the languages, and whether you need a store. We do not publish one price because a four page company site and a bilingual store with a payment gateway are not the same job. What we do is agree the scope with you first, then give you a fixed price in Egyptian pounds before any work starts, so the number does not move halfway through.
How long does it take to build a website?
Most company websites are designed, built, and launched within a couple of weeks. Online stores take longer, mainly because products, photos, shipping rules, and payment setup all have to be ready. The biggest single factor is how quickly your content and your feedback come back to us.
Can you build the site in Arabic as well as English?
Yes. We build in Arabic, in English, or fully bilingual with a correct right to left layout for the Arabic version. The Arabic side is written as real Arabic, not machine translated from the English.
Can you build an online store that accepts payment in Egypt?
Yes. We set up stores with cash on delivery, local card gateways, and wallet options, and we connect shipping so orders reach your team in a form they can act on. If you are not ready for a full checkout, we can start with a catalogue and WhatsApp ordering and upgrade later.
Do you only work with businesses in Cairo?
No. We are based in New Cairo and we work with clients across Egypt and abroad. Being in Cairo simply means meetings, calls, and support happen in your time zone and your language.
Can you rebuild our existing website without losing our Google rankings?
Yes. When we rebuild an existing site we keep the URLs that already have search visibility, or redirect them properly where a URL has to change, and we carry the existing content across. Losing rankings in a redesign is avoidable, and it is avoided by planning it before the build rather than after.
